Fans Expected At Massive Resident Evil 5 Launch Party
Fans have officially been invited to the launch of Resident Evil 5, Thursday, March 12, at Union Square in San Francisco. Capcom has teamed up with GameStop to throw an unforgettable party, with the event kicking off at 8 p.m. and ending midnight (when fans will be rushing to get their copy of the game).

According to the announcement, the attendees will be able to check out a tent dedicated to the game, with tons of kiosks ready, and possibilities to pick up a game before midnight waiting just around the corner.

Fans and attendees will also get the chance to win prizes, as well as meet the development team, and even hang out with the voice actors that played Chris, Sheva and John, Capcom also announced on its blog.

In order for fans to get their copy of the game at midnight, they will be required to stop by the Powell Street GameShop before the party to get their game transaction processed. The game is officially out on Friday, March 13.

Earlier in January, Resident Evil developer Capcom sparked controversy as it revealed that the demo version of the Resident Evil 5 installment would be available for Xbox as of January 26, and for PlayStation 3 as of February 2nd.

The game has already been released in Japan in December 2008, but Europe and the United States had to wait a bit longer. The horror video game was initially released in 1996, and since then has made its way from PCs, to Nintendo DS, Xbox and PS3.
