An exploding cylinder might have made a hole in the fuselage of a Qantas Airways plane while it was flying on Friday, therefore the crew had to make an emergency landing in the Philippines. No passenger was injured.

`”We've likely had a cylinder event,'' said today Neville Blyth, senior transport safety inspector at the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB). Investigators are focusing on the oxygen container to determine what really caused the rupture in the jumbo jet. However, they also analyze airplane records and question passengers.

Several passengers made complains, claiming that oxygen masks weren't working appropriately throughout the incident and Blyth affirmed today that this aspect will be taken into account as “part of the investigation.''
