Apple To Deliver iPhone 3.0 Details Next Tuesday
Apple is planning a launch event for the new iPhone 3.0 software as soon as next week, and has already handed out the invitations. According to the company, the event will take place on Tuesday, and will give attendees a sneak peek at what the new piece of software has to offer. The event is scheduled to take place at Apple’s Town Hall building, at 10 a.m.

The launch of the new software actually comes earlier than expected, but that of course is never a bad thing. Apple is expected to talk changes, and the new developers kit for third-party iPhone enthusiasts.

It should come as no surprise that Apple is keeping it all to itself when it comes to offering a preview of what Tuesday is all about. All that we have for now about the iPhone 3.0 is speculation, and is mostly based on what users would want to see.

Among those feature, background functionality could be one of them. Earlier last month, it has been reported that Apple was reconsidering the promise of a push option through a background alternative, which would allow one or two processes to run at the same time.

Apple has not made any comments so far, but it’s only natural for people to wonder what will come out of the promised push notification service, which the company initially presented as the ideal solution. The push service would normally allow an application to run, but it would interrupt it when for example receiving an instant message.

We still don’t know if this was implemented in the 3.0, and there’s still no word on what Apple really has in store, so we’ll just have to wait patiently until next week to find out. However, feel free to dream about it until then.
