Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston may reconcile … later. The former fiancé of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter explained in an interview that he and Bristol Palin could get back together but that they would stay friends at least for now. The 19-year-old fresh father told ABC’s “Good Morning America” during a segment scheduled to air on Monday that he and Sarah Palin’s 18-year-old daughter decided to call it quits after a fight that took place “a week, two weeks ago” and had done their best to “make things work.” The teenagers have a son together, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, born on December 27. Nevertheless, Levi Johnston said that he and his former fiancée needed some time to mature before making marriage plans. “It’s just us not, me not being mature enough, or something, and having a kid and thinking ... it could be better — better for us to separate for a while,” he said in the interview from his Alaska residence. Sarah Palin revealed details regarding Bristol’s pregnancy just a few days following her naming as John McCain’s running mate on the Republican presidential ticket. In September, Levi Johnston joined the Palin family at the Republican National Convention. In addition, Levi Johnston talked about how fatherhood changed him, explaining that he enjoys spending time with his kid and that he tries to visit his son on a regular basis. And he does not exclude the possibility of tying the knot with Bristol Palin sometime in the future, since the ex couple still keeps in touch.
